Machine Operator (Packer)Cenveo is a leading North American manufacturer of envelopes with over 100 years of experience and approximately 30 billion envelopes manufactured annually. We are hiring immediately for 2nd & 3rd shift Machine Operators (Packers) for our manufacturing facility in Chicago, IL.Machine Packer Pay/Schedule:Pay $17/hr + shift premiums2nd shift premium $1/hr and 3rd shift premium $2/hr2nd shift: 2pm - 10pm and 3rd shift: 10pm - 6amTraining may take place on 1st shift 6am -- 2pmSchedule: Mon - Fri / Sat required during busy season/based on business needs.Machine Packer Responsibilities & Daily Duties:Loads paper on to automatic hand-fed or web envelope folding machines; pack finished product.Inspects quality of envelopes, labels cartons, reports variances to key personnel.Checks current production orders/schedules to determine daily production requirements.May be required to do rework on finished product; Cleans up work area during/end of shift.Other duties as assigned/required.Machine Packer Physical Requirements & Work Environment:Ability to keep up with a high-speed delivery output in a standing position for a full shift.Mental alertness; Ability to step up/reach overhead/manually feed paper into machine.Ability to lift up to 55 pounds; Manual dexterity required to grasp objects.Exposure to arm/wrist fatigue; Exposure to noise, hazardous materials (inks, solvents, glue, etc.).Must be able to work in hot or cold weather.Cenveo is an EEO EmployerThe ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or equivalent.6 months of relevant work experience in a production environment.Quality inspection skills and ability to measure/read a ruler.Basic math, verbal/written communication, computer skills.
