And when the unexpected does arise, we'll work with you to help you be where, and when, you are needed most.Wenger Corporation is seeking a Machine Operator in our Cabinet area to provide an exceptional customer experience by operating the department machines (saw, router, edge bander) under limited supervision within assigned areas in a manner which meets or exceeds established quality and quantity standards.Minimum Requirements:Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with solid basic math skillsComfortable using a variety of hand tools and precision measuring devicesWillingness and ability to learn and perform multiple tasks within the work areaStrong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team settingProficient in navigating and using various computer systems and screensIt would be great if you also have:Prior experience in a manufacturing or machining environmentAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and detailed work instructionsExperience operating CNC equipmentFlexibility to adjust and plan work around changing schedulesAbility to obtain and maintain a forklift licenseTechnical training or trade school certificationAs a Machine Operator, a typical day might include:Setup and operate production equipment such as saws, edge banders, CNC machining centers, or other specialized machinery based on production needsFollow standard work procedures, blueprints, or work instructions to ensure accurate and consistent part productionTroubleshoot machine issues and collaborate with maintenance as neededPerform quality checks of finished parts, make necessary adjustments, or seek guidance when neededCollaborate with engineering and quality departments to resolve production issuesAssist with machine setup and basic maintenanceMonitor equipment performance and notify a supervisor of any mechanical issues or irregularitiesAccurately record production data, complete required paperwork, and perform necessary computer transactionsSupport in assembly through packing of finished goods as neededMaintain a clean and safe work environment, following all safety policies and procedures and 5S standardsAssist in training new operators as directedParticipate in cross-training and support other departments as neededWork positively in group settings, valuing input from others and offering assistance when needed to ensure successContribute to a team-based culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvementEnglish proficiency is required for this manufacturing position to ensure safety compliance and fulfillment of operational needs. The candidate must be able to speak, read and understand English in order to follow equipment instructions, understand safety protocols and respond to emergency situations. Strong English skills are also necessary for communicating with team members, supervisors and other departments to ensure smooth production processes and to maintain quality standards.While performing the functions of this job, the team member is continuously required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear.
The team member is occasionally required to kneel, crouch, squat, bend, twist/turn and climb ladder/stairs. The team member is continuously required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate machines, equipment, tools or controls. Team member is continuously required to reach with hands and arms.
The functions of the job include occasionally viewing computer monitor and repetitive motion activities on the keyboard. The team member may continuously be required to lift, move, push/pull up to and over 50 pounds.
