Machine Operator - Mechanical Background
Location: Broken Arrow, OK
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-4:30 PM, with occasional Saturdays from 6:00 AM-12:00 PM
Job Overview
We are seeking a mechanically minded Machine Operator to join our team in Broken Arrow! This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong mechanical background who wants to learn, grow, and advance into a Screw Machine Operator role.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with mechanical equipment, repairing machinery, or troubleshooting mechanical problems. Candidates with backgrounds in diesel mechanics, gearbox repair, industrial maintenance, or similar mechanical trades are encouraged to apply.
This position is focused on manual machining and mechanical aptitude, not CNC operation. We are looking for someone who understands how mechanical systems work, has strong problem-solving skills, and is eager to learn a specialized trade.
Responsibilities
* Operate and learn to operate manual machinery and shop equipment.
* Assist with machine setup, adjustments, and production tasks.
* Read and use precision measuring tools, including calipers and micrometers.
* Interpret measurements, fractions, and decimals with a high degree of accuracy, including measurements to the ten-thousandth of an inch (.0001).
* Perform basic mathematical calculations to verify dimensions and measurements.
* Inspect parts to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards.
* Troubleshoot basic mechanical issues and assist with equipment adjustments.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
* Learn advanced machining skills with the opportunity to grow into a Screw Machine Operator position.
Qualifications
* Mechanical Aptitude: Strong understanding of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment.
* Relevant Experience: Previous experience as a diesel mechanic, mechanic, gearbox repair technician, industrial maintenance technician, or in a similar hands-on mechanical role is highly preferred.
* Math Skills: Comfortable working with fractions, decimals, and precise measurements. Must be able to learn to calculate and interpret measurements to the ten-thousandth of an inch.
* Measuring Tools: Experience using calipers and micrometers is preferred. Must be able to learn quickly if not already proficient.
* Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot equipment, recognize issues, and understand how mechanical components work together.
* Attention to Detail: Able to follow instructions and maintain accurate measurements.
* Work Ethic: Dependable, motivated, safety-conscious, and willing to learn.
