We distinguish ourselves as the #1 choice of industrial manufacturers who are in need of Technical Service and Production Savings.We are BIG ENOUGH TO SERVE, and SMALL ENOUGH TO CARE.This position is considered safety sensitive and is subject to drug testing, including cannabis.Summary: The Machine Operator is responsible for reconditioning tooling to manufacturer or customer specifications, at an affordable cost savings, and understanding each customer job application to ensure tools are made correctly.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Personally exhibits, recruits and coaches associates consistent with Core BehaviorsResponsible for promoting culture of safetySort toolingSet up the machinePrep and set up jobs to be run for each applicationGrind tooling according to tool specsClean/inspect machinery and tools.Prepare dip or tube tooling for deliveryInspect jobs after final operationShip parts per customer specificationRespond to commonly occurring problems/situations for which standards, procedures or precedents existPerform hands-on tasks, primarily using trade or computer hardware and software skillsPerform all tasks in accordance with ISOQualifications:Knowledge of material and tooling types in catalogueWorking knowledge of grinding machines and their capabilities, #2 Cincinnati, ANCA & Walter grindersKnowledge of what the tool is and how it is usedAbility to look for bad grinds or chips in the tool by using eye loupes and magnifiersAbility to read blueprintsKnowledge and ability to use micrometers, Digital Calipers, Vernier, radius gagesUnderstanding of what wheel to use for each jobCompetent with applying math skills/tool geometrySupervisory Responsibilities:No direct supervisory responsibilitiesEducation and/or Experience:High School diploma or equivalent requiredUp to 2 years of experience in a similar position preferredCertificates, Licenses, Registrations:None requiredCNC certificate preferredWork Environment:Good working conditions. Environment may be slightly dirty or involve occasional exposure to elements. Work is generally performed during traditional working hours; regular day hours Monday through Friday; although there may be some changes to work schedule to include some weekends or evenings.Employee is regularly required to speak and hear English, stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
Employee is required to use computer and other equipment.Employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds.
