Machine Operator – BlendingElmet Technologies is hiring a 1st Shift Machine Operator – Blending to join our Powder Metallurgy team in Coldwater, Michigan. This is a hands-on manufacturing role where you'll set up and operate production equipment, monitor manufacturing processes, handle materials, maintain accurate production records, and help keep equipment running safely and efficiently. And you won't be limited to one area. You'll work on the manufacturing floor as part of our Powder Metallurgy team, starting in Blending and developing additional skills across our production processes.What You'll DoAs a Machine Operator, you'll help make sure production runs safely, efficiently, and according to our quality requirements.During a typical shift, you'll:Set up and safely operate production equipmentComplete product changeovers based on the production scheduleMonitor equipment and production processes while they're runningInspect equipment daily and help identify potential problemsPerform routine Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activitiesAssist with basic production equipment repairsAccurately identify and track material throughout the manufacturing processOperate forklifts, cranes, hand carts, industrial tools, and other material-handling equipmentComplete production records accurately, including OEE records, production logs, screener checks, and work ordersComplete assigned transactions in SAP, including product confirmations, maintenance work orders, and purchase requisitionsMaintain 5S housekeeping standards and keep your work area clean and organizedSupport production goals for quality, cost, and deliveryCross-train in additional Powder Metallurgy processes as your skills developThese responsibilities reflect the core production, equipment, traceability, material-handling, and SAP responsibilities in the current Coldwater position.RequirementsYou Could Be a Great Fit If You:Have a high school diploma or equivalentHave 2–3 years of manufacturing experienceAre comfortable setting up and operating production equipmentCan follow production instructions and established processesPay close attention to quality and detailsTake safety seriouslyCan accurately complete production recordsAre comfortable learning computer-based production systems such as SAPCan learn new machines and processesAre willing to cross-train and work in multiple production areasCan work independently and as part of a manufacturing teamYou'll also need to obtain and maintain the required forklift and crane licenses for the position.What Success Looks LikeSuccessful Machine Operators:Put safety firstShow up consistently and ready to workSet up and operate equipment correctlyKeep production moving while maintaining quality standardsComplete product changeovers accurately and efficientlyKeep materials properly identified and traceableMaintain accurate production recordsTake care of the equipment they operateRecognize equipment problems and help address them before they create unnecessary downtimeKeep their work area clean and organizedLearn additional processes and equipmentBecome proficient in multiple Powder Metallurgy work areasWork well with teammates and adapt as production needs changeGrow Beyond One Work AreaThis role is designed around cross-training. The job requires standing for extended periods and performing physical activities that involve frequent movement, material handling, balancing, and some heavy lifting.
