This role plays a critical part in achieving production targets while maintaining quality and safety standards. The Machine Operator ensures that production processes run smoothly to maximize efficiency, minimize downtime, and support overall plant performance.Key Responsibilities:Set up machines for production, including calibration, cleaning, and preparationOperate machinery safely and efficiently to meet production requirementsControl and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed, feed, alignment)Feed raw materials or parts into semi-automated and automated machinesInspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers)Monitor machine performance and test operations periodicallyTroubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues during the shiftIdentify and report defects, inconsistencies, or machine-related issuesMaintain accurate records of production output, scrap, and defectsFollow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area (5S standards)Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and support departmentsQualifications:Minimum 6 months to 1 year of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment preferredWorking knowledge of high-speed machinery and measurement toolsBasic understanding of manufacturing processes and production flowAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructionsStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in a team environment and communicate effectivelyHigh school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification preferredPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand and walk for up to 8–12 hours per shiftAbility to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds on a regular basisFrequent use of hands for gripping, handling, and operating machinery and toolsAbility to bend, stoop, twist, and reach throughout the shiftAbility to visually inspect parts with attention to detail (near vision required)Ability to hear and respond to machine sounds, alarms, and verbal instructionsAbility to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, vibration, and varying temperaturesMust be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)Work Environment:Manufacturing/production floor environmentExposure to moving mechanical parts and high-speed equipmentRequires strict adherence to all safety and quality standardsAdditional Expectations:Maintain consistent attendance and punctualityFollow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelinesParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives and trainingEqual opportunity employer as to all protected groups, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities
