Lead Machine OperatorNight Shift: 6 PM- 5:30 AM, Rotational Shift Tues-Thurs, Sun-Mon and Fri-SatPrimary Function: The Lead Machine Operator is responsible for coordinating the work of employees who set up and operate the machines within the Production department to attain goals set forth for the assigned shift. Is responsible for safely operating the machines at the highest possible efficiency while tracking production and scrap. They are responsible for keeping the area clean and organized as well as effectively communicating any problems with the machines, product or the department to the shift supervisor.Values: To perform the job successfully, the incumbent's behavior must be consistent with the PRIDE values expected of all Mastronardi Produce employees: be Passionate; have Respect; be Innovative; be Driven and strive for Excellence.Primary Responsibilities:Conduct training/troubleshooting for machine operatorsReport to the supervisor about any issues on their machine, product or department.Monitoring how the machine is running and fixing any minor problemsUnderstanding and following all safety precautions as well as start-up/shutdown proceduresComplete start up and shutdown checklist dailyOperate the machine in a way that eliminates down time and boosts efficiencyAchieve daily production goals set by area supervisorEnsure production quality meets customer spec, focusing on quality of product, case and pallet labelsEnsure correct country of original on all labels (PLU, Clam, box) and pallet tagsEnforce company policies (no disciplinary action)Ensure line is running efficientlyMake sure workers are performing dutiesHelp motivate the line to reach reasonable expectationsPerform changeover procedureEducation/Background Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious related work experience requiredSpecific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:Computer proficiency required with data entry experience preferredProficiency in use of English language with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally, present information and direction, and field questions from managers, employees and external contactsStrong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated problem solving and attention to detailWillingness to be responsible for company propertyBasic mechanical abilityMust be a high-performance team player; be willing to work in a demanding and fast-paced environmentWillingness to maintain confidentiality and protect proprietary informationWillingness to work independently, with minimal supervision and take ownership of jobVisual and audio sensory are needed regularlyWorking Conditions:Environment includes an expansive refrigerated warehouse, where the temperature averages 48-53 degrees Fahrenheit.
