Machine Operator AssistantLocation: Rumford RI 02916Work Schedule: Monday–Friday 11:00 PM – 7:00 PMPay Rate: USD 19.46 per hourContract Type: TTHJob DescriptionThe Machine Operator Assistant supports the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment by assisting machine operators with machine setup, material handling, quality inspections, and housekeeping. This role helps maintain production schedules and ensures product quality and workplace safety.Interested candidates should be willing to perform a required employee skills test.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist machine operator with setup, changeovers, and production runsLoad and unload raw materials and finished productsMonitor product quality and report defects or equipment issuesPerform basic quality inspectionsRemove scrap and keep work area clean and organizedPackage, label, stack, and prepare finished products for shipmentFollow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and company policiesSupport preventative maintenance activities as directedMaintain accurate production and quality recordsCollaborate with team members to meet production goals and minimize downtimePerform other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferred1–2 years minimum experience working in a manufacturing environmentMechanical aptitude and willingness to learnAbility to read work orders and follow instructionsBasic math and measurement skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentManufacturing or corrugated packaging experience preferredForklift experience (or willingness to become certified)Strong attention to detail, good attendance, reliability, and a positive team-oriented attitudePhysical RequirementsStand and walk frequentlyOccasionally sit, reach, climb, crawl, squat, kneel, and bendFrequently handle and finger objectsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds occasionallyPush/pull up to 40 lbs occasionallyWork around moving machinery, industrial equipment, and occasionally in outside weatherNoise level is usually loudAbility to use PPE (steel toe shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, etc.)Dependable, safety-focused, eager to learn, works well with operators to maintain quality, productivity, and efficient machine performance.
