Production Operator and AssemblerThis role involves operating cutting and production equipment to process fabric, sheet metal, and other components according to detailed work orders and blueprints. You will handle materials, perform precise cutting and assembly tasks, and ensure products meet quality and production standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesReceive, review, and prioritize production work orders, confirming that all specifications, materials, and quantities are accurate before starting work.Identify, stage, and verify the correct materials, including fabric rolls, sheet metal, or components, based on job requirements.Safely move and handle large fabric rolls up to 130 lbs using proper lifting techniques and material handling equipment.Perform metal cutting operations, lifting materials up to 50 lbs and cutting parts in accordance with specifications.Set up, adjust, and operate fabric and metal cutting equipment, ensuring correct settings for material thickness, type, and dimensions.Accurately measure, mark, and cut materials to meet production specifications while minimizing waste.Monitor cutting processes and inspect finished materials for quality, defects, and adherence to specifications.Utilize measuring tools, hand tools, and power tools to perform cutting, installation, and assembly tasks.Load and unload materials from machines and workstations, ensuring the proper material is collected and staged for each job.Close out completed work orders and ensure production tracking, inventory updates, and documentation are accurate.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and follow all safety protocols and required personal protective equipment (PPE) procedures.Assist with routine machine maintenance, including basic troubleshooting and performing blade or tool changes as needed.Cross-train and operate multiple machines or workstations to support production needs and workflow efficiency.Work on assembly lines and perform mechanical assembly tasks as needed to support general production.Collaborate with production, quality, and supervision teams to resolve issues, maintain product quality, and meet production deadlines.Essential SkillsAbility to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and cutting patterns.Experience operating or willingness to learn cutting machinery such as fabric cutters, die cutters, CNC equipment, or similar machines.Strong attention to detail with a focus on precision cutting and quality control.Solid understanding of material handling and production processes in a manufacturing environment.Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs for metal cutting tasks and move or assist with fabric rolls up to 130 lbs.Ability to stand, bend, and work on feet for extended periods in a fast-paced setting.Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling tools and materials accurately.Basic computer skills to upload work orders and track production activities.Ability to troubleshoot minor issues and make adjustments during production runs.Strong time management skills and the ability to meet production deadlines.Team-oriented mindset with effective communication skills to work with production, quality, and supervision teams.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in general production, warehouse inventory, or manufacturing environments.Experience in machine operation, machine operating, or general labor in a production setting.Experience using measuring tools for accurate measurements and cuts.Familiarity with hand tools and power tools for installation and assembly tasks.Experience with quality control and quality assurance processes.Ability to work on assembly lines and perform mechanical assembly tasks.Comfort working with heavy lifting and repetitive motion tasks.Experience utilizing machinery to cut material to length and measuring material to make accurate cuts.Why Work Here?You will join a laid-back, supportive culture in a modern manufacturing environment that values teamwork, safety, and continuous learning. You will work around cutting equipment and other production machinery, spending most of the day standing, bending, and performing repetitive motions. The position requires frequent lifting, including metal materials up to 50 lbs and assisting with fabric rolls up to 130 lbs. The environment is safety-focused and requires strict adherence to company and OSHA standards, including consistent use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mint Hill, NC.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
