Packaging Machine OperatorWe are on a mission to grow Second Nature Brands to $1+B in the next 2 years through a combination of organic growth and through M&A. We have an opening for a Packaging Machine Operator position, who will be an important member of the supply chain team during this growth. This position will be based out of our Kar's Nuts Products facility located at 1200 East 14 Mile in Madison Heights, Michigan.A Packaging Machine Operator is a vital member of our production team, assisting in the process of multiple kinds of our famous Sanders products to fulfill our vision of Making things better by nourishing people and nature.Regular working hours are Monday through Friday, 3:00pm -11:00pm, with weekday or weekend overtime as needed.

The starting rate $17.50 per hour plus $1.00 shift premiumEssential duties and responsibilities include:Efficiently monitor and run various packaging machinesEnsure accurate code dates, weights, and that products are put into appropriate packagingPerform assigned preventative maintenanceTroubleshoot & correct packaging machine problemsClean packaging machines and maintain a clean work environment.Assist with setting up and changing over of packaging machinesWork with team lead and supervisor to hit performance targetsFollow all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), Q&FS (Quality & Food Safety), and OSHA Safety policiesMaintain clean and safe work areaPerform other related duties as assignedQualifications:At least 18 years old;High school diploma/GED;English proficientMust have a positive attitudeAt least 1 year of machine operator experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment;Self-directed;Ability to work well with peers and supervisors;Attention to detail;Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to keep production lines running efficiently.Physical Requirements:Standing for 8-10 hours;Walking up and down stairs;Lifting up to 50 lbs frequently;Working in slightly elevated temperatures;Wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) provided by company.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, you will regularly work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment can be high and employee may be required to wear personal protective equipment.
