Machine Operator3rd shift (10:30pm-7:00am Sun-Fri)POSITION SUMMARYThe Machine Operator is responsible for following standard operating procedures in the operation of power tools and production equipment to manufacture plate, sheet, and tubing products. The operator will improve surface condition of rolled products by sanding and/or grinding. Sets up and operates shears and leveling machines used in the production of tantalum and niobium products.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESSands or grinds rolled materials to remove surface imperfections and meet product specifications including but not limited to Class 1 requirementsSets up and operates leveling equipmentSets up and operates shears to ensure final product meets the required dimensional specsSets up and operates cleaning equipment for all intermediate and finish productsRequires mechanical aptitudeFollows good safety practices, complies with PPE requirements and follows environmental policiesMust be able to understand specifications and use measuring instruments with assistanceRequires ability to recognize problems and seek assistance to resolvePerform all other duties as assigned by SupervisorMaintains work area in a clean and orderly way and follows 5S standard work practicesQUALIFICATIONSHigh School or Vocational School Diploma and/or GED required.0-2 years of experience related production experience in a manufacturing environment.Basic math skills are required to perform necessary job functions.An understanding of basic measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers).Good communication skills including the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with some machining experience is a plus.May require the use of fork trucks, overhead cranes, hand carts and hand tools.
Must be capable of obtaining a fork truck license and/or overhead crane license and must obtain a lockout/tagout certificationPay Range:$20.90-$25.
