Machine Operator 2nd shift

Machine OperatorWe are seeking a self-motivated Machine Operator with strong multitasking skills and exceptional attention to detail. In this role, you will operate, troubleshoot, repair, and perform minor maintenance on automated equipment. A deep understanding of both machine operations and product build is essential to maximize production yields and equipment uptime. We are looking for an individual dedicated to high-quality workmanship who can consistently meet scheduling deadlines and exceed customer expectations.Duties & Responsibilities:Observe all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) rules, including housekeeping practices; participate in EHS meetings, investigations, and audits. Proactively communicate and address safety concernsFollow all life-critical policies and procedures (Lock-out/Tag-Out, Confined Space Entry, Line-Break)Set up, clean, and monitor machine operations according to standard operating instructionsUnderstand department safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, and production goals; actively engage in meeting these goalsMove and inspect raw materials and products to ensure there are no visual defects; take corrective action as neededPerform checks to ensure accuracy per product specifications, ensure overall product quality, and track in manual logs or computer system to capture deviations and quality traceability dataPerform material disposition on all work-in-process (WIP) parts as assignedInterrupt machine operation as necessary to correct operating problems; minimize production of materials that do not meet specifications by quickly taking action and using investigative, troubleshooting, and mechanical skillsAccurately measure work in process (WIP) and finished goodsCommunicate technical issues promptly to all levels (managers, co-workers, maintenance, engineers, etc.)Assist in training other operatorsAssist with failures & perform regular minor preventive maintenancePerform troubleshooting to solve equipment malfunctionsPerform complete setup, adjustments, startup, and shutdown of all equipment in the areaKeep accurate records and explain any discrepancies, if necessaryPerform any additional duties as assigned by Supervisor or LeadTasks specifically related to the Membrane or E-SEP Department:Conduct handling and mixing of chemicals according to prescribed formulas and procedures (strong acids, bases, and solvents are used in regular process)Contain, label, store, and transfer hazardous waste according to applicable regulationsMay be required to unload and test bulk chemical tankersThe job description is not designed to capture all the employee's responsibilities but is intended to capture essential functions of the role.

Responsibilities may change over time and may be assigned at any time.Qualifications:Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Knowledgeable with computer applications, including basic functions in Google Suite and Microsoft OfficeBasic SAP KnowledgeStrong mathematical and mechanical aptitudeStrong communication skills both verbally and writtenHigh attention to detailEducation & Experience:Required:High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent1 year of experience as a machine operator, chemical mixer/handler, machinist, or military service in a technical background, including job experience performing shop math calculations such as fraction and decimal equivalents, machine operation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of automated equipmentPreferred:Experience with forklift operations, LOTO operations, and confined space operations (HVAC HEPA Filter Changes)Experience participating in the development of work instructions and operating guidesLean manufacturing experienceQuality inspection experiencePrevious experience performing setup, troubleshooting, and operation of automated machinesExperience with tasks specifically related to the Membrane or E-SEP Department:Use of lab equipment such as FTIR (Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy), UV-Vis (ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy), Karl Fischer, viscometer, conductivity meter, micrometer, or other similar lab equipmentFamiliarity with plumbing/ fluid transfer basics including valve orientation, air bleeding, isolation, and moreTroubleshooting a continuous web or paper handling processWork Conditions:Work may take place with chemicals, including reactive chemicals, solvents, acids, and basesMust be able to work overtime and may be required to come in 4 hours early or stay 4 hours late to ensure lines remain runningWork may consist of a rotating schedule that includes regular weekend coverageAbility to lift/handle up to 50 poundsMust wear personal protective equipment at all times when required (safety glasses, gloves, earplugs, safety shoes, and, on an intermittent basis, respirator protection in the form of a PAPR)Additional Information:Join a company that values Responsibility, Solidarity, Innovation, Customer Focus, and Respect.
