This position requires operation of cutting equipment, and reports to the Production Supervisor.This role is perfect for an individual who has an attention to detail (safety, quality, efficiency) strong work ethic/reliability and is a problem solverJob responsibilities include:Set up and operate fabrication equipment (drilling, cutting, tempering, or laminating machines) according to work orders, fabrication drawings, and production schedulesInterpret labels, shop drawings, digital programs, and fabrication sheets to determine glass specifications, dimensions, and hole/cutout placementPerform accurate measurements using tape measures and gauges to ensure compliance with tolerances and specificationsCalculate dimensions, spacing, and placement using basic math (fractions, decimals, and conversions)Monitor machine operation and make minor adjustments to maintain product quality and efficiencyInspect glass throughout the production process for defects, damage, and quality issuesComplete production documentation, including daily worksheets, inspection reports, and tracking formsPerform routine machine checks and basic preventive maintenance to ensure equipment remains in good working conditionFollow all safety procedures, including proper handling of glass and use of PPEMaintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety standardsWhat We're Looking ForHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred1+ year of manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred (glass fabrication experience a plus)Ability to read a tape measure accurately (to 1/16" or better)Ability to lift up to 75lbs unassistedBasic computer skills, including the ability to enter data and work with machine interfacesStrong math skills, including fractions, decimals, and basic calculationsAbility to read and understand basic English for work instructions and safety proceduresExperience operating overhead cranes or lifting equipment preferredStrong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and reliabilityAvailable to work a 5-day workweek with occasional work on SaturdaysHours: 1st shift 7:00am - 3:30pmPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift, bend, twist, carry, walk, and reach frequentlyAbility to stand and walk on a concrete floor wearing steel-toed shoes with metatarsal guards and other safety equipment for eight to ten hours per dayAbility to work in a manufacturing environment without temperature or humidity controlMust be able to lift up to 75 lbsPosition Pay Range$21 - $23 USDWhat OBE Offers YouBenefits that benefit you – industry competitive benefits at the lowest cost to the employeeWork-life balance – PTO and holidays, including floating holidays you can chooseCompensation that rewards your hard work – A pay-for-performance culture with potential for annual raises and bonusesTraining – We will equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to succeed
