In this role, you'll assemble custom automation equipment, collaborate with engineers throughout the build process, and play an important part in bringing each machine from concept to reality.
Your work will have a direct impact on the success of every project. Location: Full-time, Hourly position onsite in Holland, MI. Standard shop hours are 7am-3:30pmCompensation & Benefits:Pay: $20-$25 hourly, based on experience. We also offer:Competitive health, dental, and vision insurance401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributionsPaid time off (PTO) and paid company holidaysOvertime pay for eligible positions (time and a half over 40 hours)Professional development and career advancement opportunitiesCompany-sponsored lunches, events, and team activitiesAccess to employee resources and exclusive partner discountsPremium pay for travelProfit-sharing bonusesWhat You'll Do:As a Machine Builder at Mission Design & Automation, you will:Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and controls engineers to assemble custom automation equipment using mechanical drawings and project specificationsOperate a variety of shop equipment and hand tools safely and effectivelyPrepare material for secondary purposes such as material finishing and heat treatmentFoster a culture of open communication with Build Lead, Project Managers, and other departments on project progress and statusDocument machine updates and communicate project progress with the teamTake ownership of your portion of each project, making decisions and solving challenges independently while collaborating with an experienced team for supportContinue developing your skills while taking on increased responsibility, including opportunities to lead machine buildsEmbrace a versatile approach to problem solving, be open minded to different ways of completing tasks and seize opportunities for continuous learning and skill enhancementEnsure proper processes are followed and documented appropriately by consistently completing Final Ship Checklist and store it in corresponding job folderHelp maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment where every team member can do their best workWhat You Bring:Required Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentMechanical aptitude with a strong commitment to safety and qualityBasic computer skills, including Microsoft OfficeAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work in industrial environments (lift 50lbs as required, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, climbing beneath machines, etc.)Ability to obtain Hi-Lo, Aerial Platform, and Overhead Crane certificationsAbility to provide your own hand tools and toolbox (tool purchase program available)Preferred Qualifications:Vocational or technical educationAbility to read mechanical part and assembly drawingsExperience building industrial equipment, machinery, or automation systemsExperience operating common fabrication and machine shop equipmentDon't Meet Every Qualification?
