Our Shipping and Receiving team keep every part moving accurately and on time — the foundation everything else depends on.The RoleThe Machine Builder is responsible for assembling, testing, and running off custom automation equipment used in large-scale greenhouse and horticulture applications. This role requires mechanical aptitude, hands-on experience, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and basic electrical schematics.

Experience with automation, machinery, manufacturing, assembly, or a similar technical environment is highly valued. Greenhouse or horticulture experience is helpful but not required.Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssemble mechanical, water, pneumatic, and basic electrical components from bare frame to functional machines of automation systems according to work instructions, engineering drawings and specifications.Light fabrication of metal parts using power tools, welding and machining equipment.Perform functional tests and quality checks on completed equipment / systems.Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve design or assembly issues.Maintain accurate records of build progress, modifications, and part usage.Assist in the installation and commissioning of systems at customer sites as needed.Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.And other related duties that may be assigned by the company's discretion.Required Skills & AbilitiesProficiency in reading mechanical drawings, blueprints, and basic wiring diagrams.Experience in welding and fabrication, preferred.Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.Basic understanding of pneumatics and electrical systems.Detail & quality oriented.Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED.2+ years of experience in mechanical repairs, assembly or machine building.Technical certification or associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial technology with above listed mechanical skills and experience.Experience in large scale greenhouse, horticulture, or agricultural automation industry a plus.Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching.Manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (e.g., warehouse, greenhouse).Occasional travel for on-site installations (up to 10%).Why Join AdeptAgGenerous 401(k) with company-paid contributionMedical, dental, and vision coverageCompany-paid life insuranceVoluntary life, accident, and disability insurance optionsStable and growing North American organizationIf you enjoy working with your hands, solving mechanical challenges, and taking pride in building quality equipment, we'd love to have you join our team.Equal Opportunity EmployerAdeptAg is an equal opportunity employer.
