Machine BuilderLocation: Auburn Hills, MichiganPosition OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Machine Builder to support the assembly, installation, and integration of automated manufacturing systems and production line equipment. This role is hands-on and requires strong mechanical aptitude, welding capability, and the ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts.The ideal candidate will have experience working in industrial or automotive environments and be comfortable working on large-scale automation systems and equipment installations.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, assemble, and align mechanical components for automated production systemsInterpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and layout schematicsPerform MIG/TIG welding and fabrication as required for equipment installationOperate forklifts, hoists, and rigging equipment to move and position machineryInstall conveyors, robotic cells, fixtures, and structural componentsEnsure proper alignment, leveling, and anchoring of equipmentAssist with system startups, testing, and troubleshootingWork alongside engineering and controls teams during commissioningMaintain a safe work environment and follow all OSHA and company safety standardsTravel to customer sites as needed for installations and supportRequired Qualifications3+ years of experience in mechanical installation, machine building, or industrial equipment assemblyProven welding experience (MIG/TIG required)Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipmentAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematicsExperience with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipmentStrong understanding of mechanical systems, alignment, and assembly processesAbility to work overtime and travel for project-based workPreferred QualificationsExperience in automation, robotics, or automotive manufacturing environmentsFamiliarity with production line installations (BIW, assembly lines, conveyors, etc.)Rigging and equipment moving experienceBasic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumaticsPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift 50+ lbs regularlyAbility to stand, bend, climb, and work in industrial environmentsComfortable working at heights and in tight spaces when needed
