Job Title: Machine Assistant
Job Description
We are seeking a reliable Machinist Assistant to support machinists with machine operation, material handling, and production activities. This role is responsible for assisting with setup, loading materials, performing quality checks, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist machinists with machine setups, tooling changes, and daily production tasks.
* Load and unload raw materials and finished parts from CNC and manual machining equipment.
* Perform basic quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and other measuring tools.
* Deburr, clean, package, and prepare finished products for shipment.
* Read and follow work orders, blueprints, and production instructions.
* Move materials throughout the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment.
* Maintain machine cleanliness and assist with routine preventive maintenance.
* Monitor production runs and report quality, equipment, or safety concerns to supervisors.
* Keep work areas clean and organized while following all safety procedures and company policies.
* Support continuous improvement efforts to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Qualifications:
* Previous manufacturing or machine shop experience preferred.
* Ability to read measuring tools and follow written instructions.
* Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machining processes.
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
* Experience with forklifts, hand tools, and blueprint reading is a plus.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sun Prairie, WI. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
