Job Purpose:
- The MA Therapist (Unlicensed) at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing therapeutic services to clients under the supervision of a licensed professional. The role involves assisting clients in managing and overcoming mental and emotional issues, promoting mental health, and supporting overall well-being. The therapist will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and treatment plans tailored to individual client needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine client needs and appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions to clients, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
- Collaborate with licensed therapists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment strategies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
- Educate clients and their families about mental health issues and coping strategies.
- Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Uphold the values and mission of LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER by delivering compassionate and client-centered care.
Required Education:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a mental health setting, preferably in a similar role.
- Experience working with diverse populations and a range of mental health issues.
- Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic modalities and interventions.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of mental health disorders and treatment approaches.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines.
- Proficient in documentation and maintaining accurate client records.
- Capability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility and adaptability in handling various client needs and organizational changes.
