Licensed Vocational Nurse

A licensed vocational nurse (LVN) completes focused assessments, assists in developing care plans, coordinates tests and/or therapeutic procedures, and implements ordered treatments through telephonic and direct patient care. Also, a licensed vocational nurse educates patients in their proper care and treatment, manages medication refills and adheres to medication schedules, and supports and guides unlicensed staff.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Applies nursing process in care provision.
  • Collaborates with patients, families, and other disciplines to support and maintain health goals.
  • Applies clinical insight to facilitate optimal care.
  • Identifies risk(s) and takes appropriate steps towards maximizing safe outcomes.
  • Understands and is responsive to patient needs and concerns.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years experience.
  • Graduate of an approved school of vocational nursing.
  • Unrestricted license to practice in the State of Texas.
  • BLS certification.
