Hours: 12-hour shifts

Location : Pampa Regional Medical Center, Pampa TX

We are seeking a Medical Surgical LPN , sometimes referred to as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse . The Licensed Practical Nurse ( LPN ) plays an important role our hospital by providing hands-on care to patients recovering from surgery, managing chronic or acute illnesses, or undergoing diagnostic procedures. Working alongside RNs, physicians, and other healthcare team members to provide patient care our hospital's medical-surgical (Med-Surge) unit , LPNs focus on assisting with patient care and ensuring comfort and safety.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • M easure and record blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, and oxygen saturation

  • H elp patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, and toileting

  • A ssist with turning, positioning, and ambulating patients to prevent bedsores and promote recovery

  • O bserve patients for side effects or adverse reactions to medications and report findings to an RN or physician

  • M onitor patients for changes in condition (e.g., pain levels, skin color, or behavior)

  • R ecognize early warning signs of complications and report them to an RN or physician

  • P repare patients for tests or procedures by ensuring they understand the process and are physically ready

  • T each patients and families about basic post-discharge care, such as wound care, medication schedules, and managing chronic conditions

  • W ork under the supervision of RNs and report directly to them regarding patient care issues

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  1. Current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. IV certification upon hire.
