LVN Charge Nurse LVN

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides leadership and oversees day-to-day operations within the plant.  Ensures quality and productivity levels by training and motivating employees to meet customer requirements and deadlines.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Ensure that employees understand expectations about their performance, and adherence to work instructions, working safely, and avoiding injury
• Ensure the effective use of all PPE (personal protective equipment)
• Communicate with supervisor from the previous shift and review production schedule, changeover schedule, and issues from the previous shift
• Ensure all labor and production data is reported and entered correctly
• Ensure all employees are performing duties correctly and safely
• Propose and implement improvements that will reduce product cost, increase output, increase machine up time, decrease expense, and provide a better and safer work environment
• Oversee and maintain shop cleanliness and organization
• Apply knowledge of department policies and procedures, and utilizes a general understanding of other departments' functions. 
• May be responsible for data entry, reporting, checking or verifying of information, generation of reports and responding to data requests. 
• Inspects work in progress and finished materials to ensure quality standards.
• Assist in the creation/revision of SOPs for equipment and processes within the department.
• Communicate daily/weekly/monthly objectives to assigned department
• Oversee and coach employees
• Ensure the safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance
• Identify issues in efficiency and suggest improvements
• Train new employees on how to safely use machinery and follow procedures
