Lunch Supervisor
Prospect Heights School District 23 has openings for part-time lunch supervisors (Monday - Friday, 11:30 am - 12:30 pm) to supervise students in the lunchroom and on the playground at Anne Sullivan and Betsy Ross Schools for the school year. Qualifications
The qualifications for Lunch Supervisors shall be to: circulate around the lunchroom and playground (including eating areas, green spaces, blacktop, and soft play areas); supervise students inside and outside during all types of weather conditions; effectively supervise a large number of children over a large area; exercise good judgment, be dependable, emotionally mature, prompt, and flexible; effectively communicate with students and staff; pass the mandated State Police screening and fingerprint-based background check for all new employees; pass a physical examination, including a TB test (costs to be borne by the employee); maintain good personal hygiene and grooming.
Performance Responsibilities
The specific duties and responsibilities of Lunch Supervisors shall be to: enforce lunchroom and playground rules; follow emergency procedures; actively and effectively supervise students in the lunchroom and on the playground; facilitate the resolution of minor interpersonal problems which may occur between students; seek the assistance to resolve more serious interpersonal problems between students; provide for the orderly entrance and dismissal of students during noon hour activities; work cooperatively with the cafeteria and other supervisory personnel; perform such additional duties as may be assigned by the building principal.
