Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Inpatient Rehabilitation Travel Assignment in Madison, WI

  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Shift: 12-hour day shifts
  • Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday rotations
  • Charting System: EPIC
  • Unit Volume: 49 beds with an approximate patient ratio of 1:7
Job Requirements
  • Active LPN/LVN license
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility or other 24/7 skilled care environment
  • Minimum 13 weeks of EPIC experience
  • Preferred experience in med-surg or inpatient rehabilitation nursing
  • Current BLS certification
  • Ability to work in a high-acuity setting and contribute to a team-oriented healthcare environment
  • Comfort assisting with patient safety tasks, including helping CNAs and responding to call lights
  • Willingness to participate in call requirements and holiday rotations as scheduled
Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult patients receiving inpatient rehabilitation services
  • Support patients with complex recovery needs, including mobility challenges and high-acuity care requirements
  • Assist with daily nursing care, monitoring, documentation, and ongoing patient assessment
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to promote patient recovery, function, and independence
  • Use mobility and clinical equipment such as ceiling lifts, Sara Stedy/Sara Plus, slide boards, vital sign machines, EKG equipment, and BGM devices
  • Maintain a strong focus on patient safety, including responding promptly to call lights and assisting with patient support needs
  • Follow facility scheduling, attendance, and timekeeping expectations
  • Float to a nearby satellite IRF facility if needed in the future
