Licensed Practical Nurse
Under delegation and supervision of a registered nurse, assesses and plan for direct patient care within the nursing team. Responsible for adhering to all standards of nursing care. Responsible and accountable to know and understand OMC#s vision, mission, values, and standards. Current Missouri LPN license. BLS.
Follows established nursing policy and procedure, including attendance policy, medication administration, following care plans, using proper transfer and gait technique.
Assist the triage nurse in initial first receiving situation by taking VS, chief complaint, and explaining expected care plan, tests etc.
Rounds hourly in waiting room when it has patients, family and visitors waiting for care.
Documents complete and accurate assessments and reports patient information appropriately and timely.
Recognizes situations that require immediate intervention.
Assists the APN in caring of patients who are in the waiting room or results pending area.
Assists in making follow up phone calls to identified patient population.
Assists in obtaining initial ECG within 10 minutes of patient arrival.
Assists in placing patients in rooms, notifying primary nurse of patient arrival, getting patient prepared to see the physician. Gives patient update on expected plan of care.
Assists in training EMT.B as a First Receiver care provider.
Place splints, immobilizers, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
