A LPN oversees and assists in the completion of various administrative and clinical tasks within a medical office. Their main duties include managing employees, office workflows and addressing any provider's needs and concerns.
Job Responsibilities
- Assists with the supervision, training, and evaluation of clinical staff
- Enforces office policies and procedures
- Assists in the hiring and onboard administrative and clinical staff
- Assist with other procedures and demonstrates current knowledge and skill in nursing practice to ensure safe and effective care for the patient population
- Sterile tray prep, Nurse Triage, scribe when needed
- Prepare for the day's activities by checking schedules and preparing rooms for patient use i.e. clean, organize and stock rooms with necessary equipment and supplies
- Communicate effectively with patients and co-workers in-person and over the phone
- Assists with staffing schedules and time off requests
- Ensures that customer service standards are met
- Collaborates with office management, nurses, providers, and executives
- Partners with office managers to meet goals, objectives, and budgets for the office
- Ensures regulations, guidelines, and standards are followed
- Uses popular software for electronic medical records (EMR), billing, scheduling, and accurate timekeeping
- All other duties as directed and assigned
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Familiarity with ModMed, EMA, EMR preferred
- Understanding of HIPAA laws and guidelines
- Works well independently and has strong operational skills
- Learns quickly and has strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Develops strong relationships with coworkers and has strong leadership skills
- Communicates effectively and has strong verbal and written communication skills
- Standing or walking for extended periods of time.
- Ability to periodically lift objects or equipment up to 35 lbs.
- Moderate levels of pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead to prep exam rooms for patient visits as well as cleaning and sterilizing rooms after patient visits.
- The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- Ability to hear normal conversation levels.
- Hand dexterity.
