Job Summary
- Performs duties of a licensed practical nurse as prescribed by the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act.
- Contributes to the development of a plan of care and follows through with such plan for selected patients.
- Administers medication with a high degree of safety and accuracy.
- Maintains the exam rooms and work environment.
- Documents nursing care and activities.
- Assists with patient care and monitors patients during procedures.
- Assists with the training of other staff.
- Assists departmental assistant with clinical matters.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a vocational program for Licensed Practical Nurse.
Experience
- Prefer at least one year experience in a clinical or physician-office setting, emergency room and/or a hospital setting that provides patient care. Experience in office clerical activities desirable.
Licensure/Certification/Registration/Professional Designation ETC
- Current LPN license from the State of Oklahoma is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained for duration of employment.
