Job TitleWorking in a team, under the oversight of an RN, provide a variety of patient care duties including, but not limited to, passing medicine, vital sign assessment, observation, patient/family teaching, and record keeping that is focused on the comfort and health of the patients in the outpatient clinic or long term care units.Uphold the organization's vision, mission, and corporate values. Demonstrate understanding of and compliance with organization's policies, procedures, code of conduct and work rules.Essential FunctionsAssist with data collection for patients, including medical history, according to established guidelines and report any significant change in patient conditionPerform patient screening for vital signs, specimens, preventive health measures, immunizations, and patient safetyImplement physician orders according to established policy and procedures and pharmacy guidelinesAdminister prescribed medications adhering to LPN scope of practice as outlined in State of Alaska Board of NursingProviding education of, obtaining consent for and to perform nursing procedures to include but not limited to, wound treatment, phlebotomy, EKGs, and foley insertionsWith training, and annual skills review may be certified for IV insertionsAssist medical staff, team leaders and co-workers to provide an interdisciplinary approach to patient carePerform other duties as assignedPersonal Traits:All Norton Sound Health Corporation employees are expected to consistently demonstrate the organization's values: integrity, cultural sensitivity and respect for traditional values, continual learning and improving, compassion, teamwork and pride.
