LPN/LVN

Job Summary:

We are hiring qualified LPN/LVN professionals to provide nursing and patient-care services within correctional facilities. This role requires an experienced nursing professional who can provide direct patient care, administer medications and treatments, assist healthcare providers, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.

Requirements:

- Minimum 12 continuous months of direct patient-care experience within the last 3 years.

- Current and valid California Vocational Nurse license.

- Current BLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross, including AED.

- Strong English communication skills.

- Current clinical competencies.

Responsibilities:

- Provide nursing care within the scope of practice.

- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.

- Perform basic nursing and hygiene care.

- Monitor patient conditions and report findings to the RN or Primary Care Provider.

- Provide patient education and document care accurately.

- Obtain specimens for diagnostic testing.

- Assist with examinations, clinic appointments, minor procedures, and treatments.

- Assist mental health professionals with monitoring and documentation of patient behaviour.

- Assist patients with activities of daily living.

- Maintain clean and functional healthcare equipment.

- Document nursing care, treatments, patient responses, and other relevant information in the patient health record.

- Follow correctional facility policies, procedures, and applicable healthcare requirements.
