What You'll Do
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and established care protocols.
- Take and record vital signs, observations, and related documentation.
- Provide wound care, including dressing wounds and applying compresses and ice bags.
- Support catheterizations and catheter care while following safety and infection-control standards.
- Prepare equipment and assist the physician during treatment and examinations.
- Assist with rehabilitation efforts and support clients in achieving care goals.
- Complete and maintain accurate charting and records on each client.
- Request and coordinate lab work as needed and in accordance with care plans.
- Carry out physician orders and communicate updates to the nursing team.
- Requisition medications, supplies, and other necessary resources.
- Provide direct care to clients when needed and ensure comfort, dignity, and safety.
- Assist in developing and supporting patient/client care plans.
- Administer decubiti (pressure injury) care following facility procedures.
- Check supplies and equipment to ensure readiness for daily care needs.
- Perform other duties as directed.
- Valid Louisiana License or a Multi-State License recognized by the State of Louisiana as an LPN.
- 2 years' experience in an ICF/IDD setting preferred.
