Client's ideal candidate would be someone who has a passion to work with and interact with residents daily.General Duties:Physician's Computer Company: EHR/EMRAdministers and records medication, treatments and monitoring e.g.
glucose checks, as ordered and reports and documents resident responseAccurately transcribes physician's ordersCompletes monthly summaries as scheduledReviews the care plan with NAs on monthly summary day and updates the care plan to reflect the resident's current condition.Notifies the RN Supervisor immediately of a significant change in resident's conditionReports and records changes in resident condition to the RN SupervisorCommunicates resident transfers to immediate family and via email to department headsCompletes transfer form for all transfersUpdates care plans with clear, concise, time limited goals to reflect resident condition and directs team to implement approachesAssists physicians with rounds, examinations and treatments as neededCollects laboratory specimens e.g.: urine, cultures, stool, etc. and arranges for delivery to Hospital with accurate and complete requisitions. Documents in PCC when laboratory work is doneOn resident death, supervises and assists with post mortem procedures.
Assists with collection of resident's clothing and belongings. Notifies all department heads of death via email, makes phone calls as directed by RN SupervisorEncourages resident participation in scheduled activitiesReports to team changes in resident condition, care plan changes and any special assignments to be carried outAssists RN Supervisor with annual evaluations of nursing assistantsAlong with RN Supervisor, writes commendations and counseling records as neededAccurately completes incident reports or assists team members in writing reportDocuments weights and vital signs and follows up as needed, including reweighing residents if there is a three pound or more discrepancy from the last weightCleans and stocks treatment trays dailyPrepares daily report for the wingCounts narcotics with another nurse at beginning and end of shiftMaintains an accurate inventory of resident belongings - notes new items brought in and items removed from facilityMaintains work area in clean, orderly condition.
