As an LPN supporting Neurological Surgery at Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital, you will assist caregivers in providing high‑quality care for a diverse patient population and support endocrinology providers.

Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients.
  • Administer medication.
  • Maintain complete, accurate and up-to-date documentation in medical records and files.
  • Complete authorization forms and laboratory requisitions.
  • Implement pain management assessments and documentation.
  • Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.
  • Follow Code Blue protocol.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
  • Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross Certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred if working in Cardiology.
  • Knowledge of infection control practices.
  • Computer literacy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of clinical experience.
  • Medical background knowledge.
  • One year of LPN experience.
  • EPIC experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires knowledge of all aspects of patient care including assessment; planning, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the patient's progress through the entire continuum of care in conjunction with the R.N. or physician.
  • Frequent walking, sitting, and standing.
  • Frequent talking and listening when giving instructions and explanations.
  • Frequent use of the phone, fax machines, and occasional use of the computer.
  • Heavy lifting and moving patients, carrying equipment, supplies, and material up to 50 pounds without help and over 50 pounds with the help of mechanical devices or other personnel.
  • Stooping, pushing, and pulling when moving a patient into position for treatment; reaching, handling, feeling, and manipulating equipment into position.
  • Working conditions: the majority of the time spent indoors in air‑conditioned areas.
  • Potential exposure to blood and blood‑borne pathogens is significant.
  • Clinical exposure to patients requires the use of personal protective equipment.

Personal Protective Equipment

  • High exposure to infectious wastes such as blood and bodily fluids that mandate wearing gloves, masks, gowns, and goggles as appropriate.
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Pay Range

Pay is determined by market averages and will be discussed with candidates during the application and hiring process.
