Clinical/Clerical DutiesUnder the direction and guidance of the registered nurse, licensed practical nurse or physician performs a variety of clinical/clerical duties and tasks to provide effective patient care.Taking vital signs: Measuring and recording blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiratory rate.Drawing blood: Performing phlebotomy to collect blood samples for testing.Assisting with procedures: Helping physicians during examinations and minor surgical procedures.Collecting samples: Gathering urine, stool, and other specimens for laboratory testing.Maintaining equipment: Ensuring medical equipment is clean, sterilized, and in good working order.Stocking supplies: Keeping track of medical supplies and restocking as necessary.Assisting with patient flow: Helping manage the flow of patients through the clinic to minimize wait times.Qualifications:Education Required HS Diploma or EquivalenceLicense/Certification/Registration(s) Required Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant ProgramExperience/Skills Required- One (1) year previous experience in a medical setting of relevant experience required. Excellent communication/interpersonal skills. Bilingual preferred.
Knowledge of Computer Technology preferred. Successful completion of St. Barnabas Hospital orientation.
