Low Voltage Technician
Allstates Consulting Services is looking for a Low Voltage Technician to work with our partner out of the St. Louis, MO area. This is a contract to hire opportunity and the job requirements are listed below.
The pay is $ per hour.
Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain: Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain structured cabling systems (Cat5/Cat6, fiber, coax).
- Cabinet & conduit work: Perform conduit installation, cable dressing, and termination inside IDF/MDF cabinets.
- Device setup: Install and configure CCTV and network devices.
- Project leadership: Lead small teams on multi-week projects to ensure timely, safe, and budget-conscious delivery.
- Blueprints: Read and interpret blueprints and site maps.
- Aerial work: Operate BOOM and/or scissor lifts to work at heights up to 40+ feet.
- Testing & compliance: Conduct system testing and ensure compliance with safety and industry standards.
- Communication: Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with clients and team members.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on experience in low-voltage systems, structured cabling, networking, and CCTV.
- Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of fiber optic termination, network infrastructure, and Point-of-Sale (POS) deployment/troubleshooting.
- Licensing: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in the last 3 years).
- Transportation: Reliable personal transportation.
- Tools: Must possess basic telecom tools and standard Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Leadership: Comfortable working independently and leading small teams.
- Travel flexibility: Willingness to travel extensively (4–6 weeks at a time) and work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.
Highly Desirable Skills (Preferred but Not Required)
- Industry certifications: BICSI, OSHA, MSHA, AVIXA CTS, Panduit, Belden, or Corning.
- Hands-on experience with fusion splicing.
- Experience running DSX cable certification testing.
