Low Voltage Technician Helper

As a Technician Helper, you will play an essential role in supporting the installation and maintenance of low voltage cabling systems. Your work will involve pulling and running cable through ceiling tiles, installing systems, and performing various duties alongside a lead technician. This position requires physical strength as you will be lifting up to 50 lbs and moving materials.

Responsibilities:

  • Pull cable and run it through ceiling tiles.
  • Install low voltage cabling systems.
  • Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Organize materials and maintain a tidy work environment.
  • Use hand tools efficiently.
  • Climb ladders safely.
  • Perform various helper duties while assisting a lead technician.

Essential Skills:

  • 1+ years of experience using hand tools.
  • 1+ years of construction or wiring experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment and machine operation.
  • Knowledge of low voltage systems, installation, and data cabling.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with low voltage cabling is a plus.
  • Motivated and eager to learn a trade.
  • Trade school or technical certification is advantageous.
  • Hands-on physical labor experience, preferably in a construction setting.

Work Environment:

Work on vacant sites without live wires in various locations such as commercial construction sites, industrial facilities, and existing commercial buildings like hospitals, schools, and data centers. Shifts vary, with openings on 1st, off-shift, and weekend shifts. Dress appropriately for construction settings. Must be open to commuting within the greater Nashville area. The first day will begin at the office, after which work will be directly on job sites. Flexibility for overtime and travel within a 50-mile radius of Nashville is required. A valid driver's license and personal vehicle are necessary.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $21.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
