Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Data Cable Technician
  • Ability to travel extensively
  • Flexible schedule; willing to work on-call, day or night shifts as needed
  • Experience reading blueprints and site maps
  • Experience in CCTV, voice, and data cabling (preferred)
  • Knowledge of identifying color codes and independent colors
  • Ability to work in cramped spaces and at heights
  • Experience operating a boom or scissor lift
  • Basic telecommunication tools, PPE, and reliable transportation
  • Knowledge of cabling infrastructure standards
  • Proficiency with smartphones, personal computers, email, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with conduit installation (preferred)
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in the last 3 years)
Responsibilities:
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain cabling infrastructure
  • Run low-voltage cabling in commercial buildings (including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work)
  • Ensure cables are neatly tied and bundled in compliance with safety regulations
  • Install cable support structures (j-hooks, cable racks, innerduct)
  • Conduct testing to verify all installed systems and devices are operational
  • Troubleshoot cable network issues as needed
