DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Technician I (TI): As the Technician I, the expectations will vary with company growth. Responsibilities are listed below but are not limited to: Install, Troubleshoot, Service Fire Alarm, Burglar, Access Control, and Camera Systems. TI will also be required to conduct administrative duties such as support, service calls, and general customer service.
- Install Fire, Burglar, IP Camera, Access Control, and Entry Systems
- Answer phones routed to service and installation.
- Obtain and maintain installation certifications such as Level 1 and Nicet for fire
- Follow up to ensure service and installation completion and client approval.
- Complete, Review, and Submit pictures and completion documents.
- Obtain and review invoices for equipment, and submit to accounting to be entered once approved.
- Perform takeover installs.
- TRAVEL installations not to exceed 1 week of travel (M-F) every other week with one week (M-F) home in between.
- Adhere to all schedules and procedures to ensure adequate and timely service completion.
- Install and program control panels and all other equipment for fire alarm systems with the guidance of building plans and electrical layouts.
- Mount sensors at appropriate locations, performing all necessary tasks, such as drilling holes for cabling and accessing locations such as crawlspaces or attics to ensure optimal wiring layouts.
- Install all wiring to connect system components, complying with all applicable safety standards and with customer concerns or preferences.
- Show customers how to use the system, discuss any questions or concerns and ensure customers are fully satisfied with the service they receive.
- Inspect and test systems to ensure all components are performing well and comply with safety requirements.
- Review installation manuals, building plans and work orders to plan optimal locations for system components and wiring.
- Identify and repair malfunctions in system components or wiring, including ordering and installing replacement parts as necessary.
- Compose and submit documentation and reports for each installation or repair visit, complying with the company's standard operating procedure.
Job Skills & Qualifications Required:
- State certification Level 1 in Fire Alarm & Detection Equipment and Alarm Technician or obtain within 90 days of employment
- Proficiency in alarm panels, including QolSys, Resideo, Ademco, Fire Lite, Wisenet and others
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record
- Top customer service skills
Preferred:
- Networking experience with security, CCTV systems or other
- Fire experience absolute plus

Work Location: will be based in Louisville, KY with project travel two weeks per month. - High priority: Dallas Area, Potomac Divide, Phoenix, Midwest, MO, Indianapolis, Ohio, and West Virginia area but the ability to travel M-F is a definite advantage
