System AdministratorLocation: Nashville, TNDuration: 10+ MonthsHybrid work8am to 4.30pmSummaryThe State of Tennessee is seeking a System Administrator to provide moderate professional support for the Department of Agriculture’s laboratories. This would include the management, operation, and maintenance of its Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and Quality Management Software (QMS). The successful candidate plays a critical role in electronic data reporting, regulatory compliance sample tracking, instrument integration, and data management.Job ResponsibilitiesDevelop, configure, and maintain systems interfaces (e.g., LIMS and QMS) to other information systems, lab instruments, and other equipmentPerform system hardware and software upgrades, troubleshoot problems, and analyze data.Create and maintain a virtual LAN to support the backup and restoration of laboratory data not on the state network.Respond to users' requests from users regarding LIMS operations, troubleshooting, and providing solutions to operational problems.Other duties will include configuring and programming the LIMS to meet the need of the users, customers (internal and external), and management; ensuring the data integrity and regulatory compliance, and reliability are maintainedPerform other duties as assigned; for example, serve as liaison between laboratory and federal partners on IT implementation projectsQualificationsGraduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree and two years of experience in the configuration, maintenance and replacement of enterprise systems, including the maintenance of server hardware and operating systems, or the ongoing operation and support of application software running in an enterprise environment.Experience and Education Equivalency: Combinations of appropriate education, training, certification, and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis for comparability to the minimum education and experience requirements.To be successful in this role, a candidate should possess some of the following attributes:Experience working in a laboratory environment is highly desiredExperience with the configuration of customizable Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).Knowledge of laboratory operations, methods and quality assurance practices and proceduresFamiliarity with laboratory instrument, data processing and integrationApplication server administration and supportFamiliarity with requirements for data analysis, QA/QC and documentation as specified by FDA, USDA, and EPAAbility to communicate and work effectively within a multi-cultural workforceKSAsKnowledge : Knowledge of systems logs, systems tools, network attached storage (NAS), storage area networks, file share, common internet files system (CIFS), systems backup and recovery, workstation and server operating systems; storage provisioning, data domain storage; virtualization technologies; Skills: Active Listening, Troubleshooting, Learning Strategies, Equipment Maintenance, Installation.
