Public Health Program DirectorLocation: Nashville, TN (Hybrid)Duration: 5+ MonthsWe plan to transition this posting into a full time state position, with state benefits, within the first six months.Job Description:60% Supervise the Field Operations Unit, which is made up of four Disease Intervention Specialists/Regional Consultants and one CDC assignee that provide support and technical assistance for STI investigations across the state. Ensure consistency in provision of technical assistance, adherence to CDC STI clinical guidelines, CSTE case definitions and TN Department of Health protocols.Provide mentorship and education on syphilis investigation and case management. Review PRISM task lists daily, and conduct quality assurance weekly.

Lead statewide Congenital Syphilis Review Boards, Regional Consultant monthly meetings, quarterly program performance reviews and serve as the central office point of contact for any questions outside the scope of the Regional Consultants.Ensure Regional Consultants are meeting needs of their assigned coverage regions and monitor data and trends in STIs to ensure these needs are adjusted based on changes in the TN epidemiology. Perform site visits to regional health departments annually.Identify gaps and needs in STI investigations and work with the STI Training and Evaluation Coordinator to ensure these gaps are addressed. Assist with coordinating training of new DIS prior to deployment to the field.25% Maintain STI Prevention Program documentation including updates to the STD Program Manual, PRISM/NBS User Manual, and Regional Contact lists.

Work with the STI Prevention Director and STI Surveillance Director to establish program priorities and ensure these priorities are reflected in centralized and local work flows. Lead completion of grant metrics and narratives that relate to case investigation. Develop statewide program expectations and work with the STI Prevention Director to update the metro contracts to reflect the expected scope of services.15% Lead and/or serve a key role in statewide or localized STI outbreak response and outbreak response planning.

Ensure follow-up is done on any cluster meeting the 'rapid response' level in the STI Threshold reports and create a system for documenting actions taken. Summarize cluster investigation outcomes during monthly staff meetings including investigative limitations and challenges. Provide feedback to STI Surveillance team on sensitivity of the current thresholds for detecting true aberrations.Must have a minimum of five years experience as a Disease Intervention Specialist (DIS) and two years management experience.Bachelors degree in Social Work, Public Health, or similar field preferred.
