Nutrition Security Project DirectorLocation: Nashville, TN (Hybrid)Duration: 12+ MonthsJob Summary:The Nutrition Security Project Director will be responsible for managing and coordinating projects related to food access and nutrition security efforts for the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH), Division of Health Disparities Elimination. This position will support key division leadership by providing technical oversight and input on the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of food access and nutrition security projects as directed. Must live in Tennessee.Key Duties/Responsibilities:Plan and convene meetings with internal and external partners that support nutrition security efforts across the stateIdentify emerging issues/opportunities related to food access, and work across sectors to convene key stakeholders and collaboratively develop action plans to address themLeverage existing resources and establish new partnerships that support nutrition security in TennesseeSupport multi stakeholder, high impact projects and programs that fill gaps in the food system and advance equitable, community-driven solutions to address food access problemsParticipate in coalition and council meetings and activities as neededSkills and Abilities:Attention to detail and strong organizational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent interpersonal, team building, and relationship-building skillsAbility to share complex information clearly and confidently with stakeholder groupsFacilitation experience and the ability to work collaboratively with people from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds is essentialAbility to navigate complex relationships, work within multifaceted systems, and identify nuanced opportunities to move projects forwardIntermediate level proficiency in MS Office and MS ExcelEducation and Experience:Bachelor’s Degree in nutrition, public health or related field is required; master’s degree preferred.5+ years of relevant, progressively responsible project management experience5+ years of professional facilitation experienceProven ability to identify emerging challenges in complex environments and find stakeholder-driven solutions to address themExperience with statewide plan developmentExperience conceptualizing contracted scopes of work and overseeing their executionPrior experience working with nutrition related programsBackground in food systems
