Long-Term Substitute Educational Assistants
Position available: Applications are being accepted for long-term substitute educational assistants at Foley Public Schools. Locations: Foley Intermediate School and Foley Elementary School. Candidates interested in working at either location should apply. Start date: August 27, 2026. End date: TBD.
Essential functions: Educational assistants work directly under the supervision of a special education teacher and/or the school principal. Educational assistants supervise and work with students with physical, intellectual, and/or behavioral disabilities.
7-hour day (6.5 paid hours per day or 32.5 paid hours per 5-day week).
Qualifications: An A.A. degree or at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (a minimum of 60 semester credits), or a passing score on the ParaPro or ParaEducator assessment. A passing score on a PCA certification online assessment. Experience or interest in working with children in a classroom or educational setting. Experience or interest in working with children with disabilities is preferred.
Wage: Competitive wage based on experience and qualifications, starting at $20.37 per hour.
