The Verndale School is currently accepting applications for a long-term paraprofessional substitute position (approximately six weeks in duration), with an anticipated start date on or before December 9, 2025.
Position Purpose
Support students individually or in small groups as directed by the special education teacher or supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Passing score on the PARA PRO test
- Strong skills in reading, writing, math, and basic computer use
- Ability to lift 35 lbs
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide academic and behavioral support to students
- Prepare materials and assist with instruction using teacher plans
- Support students in a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment
- Implement IEP accommodations and collect progress data
- Supervise and assist during school activities and transitions
- Maintain confidentiality and follow staff direction
- Perform other duties as assigned
