Locums OB Hospitalist Physician

We are seeking an experienced Locums OB Hospitalist Physician to providecoverage in Corpus Christi, Texas. This opportunity is ideal for a physiciancomfortable managing a high-volume, high-acuity obstetrical patient population.

Assignment Details

• Coverage Dates:September 14 and September 18
• Schedule:24-hour shifts, 8:00 AM–8:00 AM
• Annual BirthVolume: Nearly 4,000 deliveries per year
• Maternal CareLevel: Level IV
• NICU: Level III
• EMR: Meditech

Responsibilities

• Providecomprehensive OB hospitalist coverage, including OBED and obstetricaltriage
• Evaluate,admit, manage, and discharge unassigned obstetrical and gynecologicalpatients
• Respond tolabor, deliveries, obstetrical emergencies, and acute maternal conditions
• Manage complexand high-risk obstetrical patients, including maternal-fetal medicine andTOLAC cases
• Provideemergency care until the patient's assigned physician arrives and assumescare
• Performdeliveries and assist with complicated deliveries as needed
• Providesurgical assistance and first assist for cesarean sections when available
• Performemergency surgical management of unassigned gynecological patients
• Provide OB/GYNconsultations throughout the hospital
• Accepttransferred patients and coordinate transport for critically illobstetrical or gynecological patients
• Respond tomajor obstetrical emergencies, including hemorrhage and massivetransfusion protocol activation
• Conduct historyand physical examinations and coordinate ongoing patient care
• Collaboratewith nursing staff, physicians, and other members of the care team
• Maintainaccurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Participate inquality improvement, patient safety, fetal monitoring, and otherdepartmental initiatives

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 5years of OB experience required
• Experiencemanaging high-acuity and complex obstetrical patients
• Comfortableworking independently in an OBED and managing unassigned patients
• Strongexperience with emergency obstetrical care and operative procedures
• Ability tomanage complicated deliveries, TOLAC patients, and maternal-fetal medicinecases
• Excellentcommunication and collaboration skills
• NCC fetal heartmonitoring certification preferred
