Locums General Surgery Physician Assistant

We are seeking an experienced General Surgery Physician Assistant for a locum tenens opportunity in Neptune City, New Jersey. This position offers a predominantly outpatient practice with a focus on General Surgery, Surgical Oncology, and Endocrine Surgery in a collaborative, physician‑led environment.

Compensation

$115 Per Hour

Position Details

• Practice Setting: 90% Outpatient | 10% Inpatient
• Schedule: Monday–Friday
• Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Call: None

Clinical Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patients in the outpatient surgical clinic.
• Provide preoperative and postoperative care for general, oncology, and endocrine surgery patients.
• Conduct patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and coordinate follow-up care.
• Assist with inpatient consultations and postoperative management as needed.
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, nursing staff, and the multidisciplinary care team to ensure high‑quality, patient-centered care.
• Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures, recovery, and ongoing treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Active New Jersey Physician Assistant license
• NCCPA certification required
