We are seeking a Board-Certified Locums Cardiothoracic Surgery Physicianto provide hospital-based coverage in Paducah, Kentucky. This opportunityinvolves adult cardiac surgery, general thoracic surgery, and management ofhigh-acuity patients.
Assignment Details
- PracticeSetting: Hospital-based
- Shift Type: 24-hour shifts
- Schedule: 7:00 AM–7:00AM
- WeekendCoverage: Required
- Call: Required
- Average CTSurgical Cases: 1–2 per day
- Annual ERVolume: Approximately 30,000

Candidates must be available for one of the following coverage blocks:
- December24–December 28 – Preferred coverage dates; candidates with thisavailability will be prioritized
- December28–January 4
Responsibilities
The physician will provide coverage for a range of cardiothoracicsurgical and critical care needs, including:
Adult Cardiac Surgery
- Coronary arterybypass grafting (CABG)
- Arterialrevascularization using internal mammary and radial arteries
- Redo cardiacsurgery cases
- Heart valverepair and replacement procedures
General Thoracic Surgery
- Tubethoracostomy
- Tracheostomy
- Bronchoscopy
- VATSprocedures, including decortication and lung biopsy
- Pericardialwindow procedures
Critical Care & ICU Management
- Management ofhigh-risk and critically ill cardiothoracic surgery patients
- Impellainsertion, removal, and bailout procedures
- Medicalmanagement of critically ill patients in the ICU
Requirements
- Board Certifiedin Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Active Kentuckymedical license
- Current BLScertification
- Experience withadult cardiac surgery, general thoracic surgery, and high-acuity ICUmanagement
