We are seeking a Board-Certifiedor Board-Eligible Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant for a locumsassignment in Portsmouth, Virginia. This position provides primarily inpatientadult cardiothoracic surgery coverage with a combination of daytime clinicalresponsibilities and night/weekend call.
PositionHighlights
- Minimum Commitment: 2-week on /2-week off rotation
- Schedule: Monday-Friday,7:00 AM-3:00 PM
- Night Call: 3:00 PM-7:00 AM
- Weekend Call: 24-hour call,7:00 AM-7:00 AM
- Weekend Rounding: Required
- Patient Population: 100% Adult
- Inpatient: 75%
- Outpatient: 25%
- Patients on Rounds: Approximately5-10
- EMR: Epic
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient and outpatientcardiothoracic surgery care for adult patients.
- Perform daily rounds and evaluatepostoperative patients.
- Assist with patient management,treatment planning, and coordination of care.
- Respond to clinical needs and consultsduring assigned night and weekend call.
- Collaborate with surgeons, physicians,nurses, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Complete timely and accuratedocumentation in Epic.
- Participate in weekend rounds andprovide continuity of care.
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board EligiblePhysician Assistant
- Active Virginia license
- Active DEA registration
- Cardiothoracic surgery experiencerequired
- Ability to participate in a 2-week on /2-week off rotation
