Compensation: $125 Per Hour
We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a full-time locum tenens opportunity in Hackensack, New Jersey. This outpatient-only assignment is covering a leave of absence and offers a collaborative practice environment with an established cardiac surgery team.
Position Highlights
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, four 10-hour shifts per week (alternating day off)
- Setting: Outpatient only
Clinical Responsibilities
- Evaluate and manage preoperative and postoperative cardiac surgery patients
- See approximately 10 patients per day
- Perform minor postoperative procedures, including:
- Wound debridement
- Wound packing placement
- Collaborate closely with cardiac surgeons and advanced practice providers to ensure continuity of care
Practice Environment
- Work alongside 5 Cardiac Surgeons
- Collaborate with 5 outpatient Advanced Practice Providers and the Clinical APN Manager
- Coordinate care with the inpatient NP/PA team
- Supported by experienced clerical coordinators, scheduling staff, certified medical assistants (CMAs), an office supervisor, and an office manager
