Quick Facts
- Monday – Friday, 7 am – 5 pm (10-hour shifts) plus weekend call
- 10 – 15 patients per shift — inpatient rounding
- Inpatient hospital-based gastroenterology coverage
- Call ratio 1:4 — beeper call with 15 – 30 minute response time
- Upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, PEG, and lower GI procedures required
- Small bowel biopsy and flexible sigmoidoscopy skills required
- Ongoing coverage — one week per month plus one weekend call per month
