This 265-bed acute care facility holds a Level II trauma designation, providing the clinical resources and established protocols necessary to support inpatient neurosurgical coverage. The facility maintains infrastructure to accommodate coordinated care delivery across inpatient and emergency department settings. A neurosurgeon on call is available to support clinical operations throughout each assigned coverage period.

The region offers a broad range of outdoor recreation opportunities, including access to coastal areas, hiking, and year-round activities suited to varied interests. Cultural attractions, diverse dining options, and natural scenery provide ample opportunities during time away from clinical responsibilities. The area's mild climate and regional amenities support a well-rounded experience for visiting clinicians.

The nurse practitioner will provide day shift neurosurgical coverage across inpatient and emergency department settings at this on-site facility. Clinical responsibilities include rounding on and evaluating all patients on the neurosurgery service, coordinating care with the neurosurgeon on call, entering orders, writing notes, and removing drains as indicated. The clinician will write daily progress notes, discharge instructions, discharge summaries, and consultation notes, and will evaluate new consults as they arise. Timely communication of changes in care plan, neurological assessment, or clinical concerns to the neurosurgeon on call is required throughout each assigned coverage period.
