About The Position
We are seeking a Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner for a 16‑day locum tenens assignment in New York. This opportunity begins on Jan 2, 2026, with orientation, followed by clinical work starting Jan 5, 2026. The schedule consists of four 8 a‑6 p shifts per week, Monday through Friday, providing care in an ambulatory solid tumor setting.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Assess, diagnose, monitor, and manage care for patients with various cancers and benign or malignant tumors and diseases
- Promote health and protection from disease within the scope of practice
- Perform history and physical examination, with or without pelvic exam
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and therapeutic modalities specific to hematology/oncology
- Implement therapeutic interventions for relevant conditions
- Administer and prescribe chemotherapy/biotherapy as credentialed
- Complete at least 10 chemotherapy/biotherapy administrations in the past 12 months
- Perform arterial puncture and blood gas sampling
- Provide debridement and general care for superficial wounds and minor surgical procedures
- Perform incision and drainage of superficial abscesses
- Insert and remove non‑weighted nasogastric or oro‑gastric tubes
- Complete death certificate protocols
- Remove central venous catheters
Additional Information
- Must hold an active NY state license
- Required certifications: Adult‑Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGACNP‑BC), Adult‑Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certification (AGPCNP‑BC), Adult Nurse Practitioner Certification (ANP‑BC), Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (FNP)
- Additional certifications: Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC‑PA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Demonstrated recent competency in chemotherapy/biotherapy administration required
