TinkBird Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide locum tenens coverage for the Neuroscience ICU at a Level I Trauma Center in Greenville, North Carolina. Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM): December 26 – January 1

Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM): Ongoing beginning January 2027

Position Highlights

• Inpatient Neuroscience ICU only
• 12-hour shifts
• No clinic responsibilities
• No call required
• No Emergency Department backup
• Provider responds to codes
• Average inpatient census: 20
• Average patient load: 4 patients per provider
• Average admissions: 2 per day
• 20-bed Neuroscience ICU
• EPIC EMR
• Orientation required the day before the first scheduled shift

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive ICU-level care for critically ill neuroscience patients
• Perform daily assessments, treatment planning, and patient management
• Collaborate with neurosurgeons, neurologists, neurointensivists, nursing, and multidisciplinary care teams
• Perform bedside procedures including:
  • Arterial line placement
  • Central line placement
  • Lumbar punctures
  • Ventilator management

Requirements

• Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Acute Care certification required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU or Neuroscience ICU experience
• Demonstrated ability to independently provide ICU-level care
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required)
